Well, hello there! I’m getting ready to go do a planting this morning (post to follow, naturally), and thought I’d take a moment to put together a Tumblr Salad post. It’s been over a month, after all. 🙂 I haven’t been quite as prolific on the boZannical Tumblr as I have in previous months, but there’s certainly enough to tackle…
My Sutro Forest client’s garden has this brugmansia (Angel’s Trumpet) that is seriously taking off. Last week I didn’t have to duck under it. Crazy fast.
A stray fishtail palm leaf on a city bus. There’s gotta be an interesting story behind that.
Interesting tree addition. 🙂 It’s like a Beast of the Southern Wild, and it’s “anatomically correct” with a pine cone for its junk.
Clematis in a client’s garden under Sutro Forest.
A mass of Agave attenuata at City College. I’ve watched this patch grow since it was planted six years ago. Big fan here.
A newbie in the club: Echeveria craigiana at Flora Grubb Gardens.
I’d hate to run into THIS caterpillar! Cute, no? Harvey Milk Academy in the Castro.
Peeling cherry bark on Liberty.
This surprised me! In Forest Hill Station, literally a hundred feet or more underground with no natural light, and this grass is sprouting in the cracks along the platform’s edge.
You already know how I love blue as a garden background color. Mmm. Sexy.
This is why it’s important to choose the right plant for the right spot!
Totally amused by this pruning on a podocarpus.
Nice tableau of fortnight lily against a brick wall.
Amusing lumps of vestigial air roots on a Canary Island palm. Dolores St at Liberty.
Beautiful sunflowers on Phelps and Quint in the Bayview, above the CalTrain tunnel.
I LOVE botanically-themed metalwork.
Phenomenal succulent patch up above Glen Canyon.
Put on some older gloves, and was reminded of how sharp my pruning saw is. Last time I wore these, I slipped… Scar and tear to match.
I’ve seen bikes locked up, but this is a first! 🙂
Gay birds, spreading AIDS awareness. Collingwood St.

Your “Tumblr Salad” is so fun and so engaging…love it.
Thanks Charlie! Glad you enjoy it. It’s one of my more-read categories, for sure.
